Patroller Project

HBNW has been proactively coordinating the training of HBNW patrollers with the:

  • Department of Community Safety (DoCS)
  • Western Cape Ambulance Services
  • and our own local HBVolunteer Emergency Services (HBVEMS)

to deliver over 248 certificated training opportunities for First Aid, Fire Fighting and Basic Neighbourhood Watch courses to our patrollers.

We are currently in the process of receiving funding from DoCS however HBNW are still in need of equipment/gear for our dedicated patrollers and are therefore appealing for donations to our Patrollers Fund.

Sponsor equipment/gear for Patroller Fund

  • Patroller Bibs
  • Torches
  • Whistles
  • First Aid Kits
  • Fire Extinguishers

In conjunction with the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Hout Bay and the Community Police Forum (CPF), patrollers are screened/cleared and issued with numbered bibs.

At night in particular torches and whistles would be handy so that they are able to see where they are going and be heard in an emergency situation. First aid kits are needed as patrollers have also received training through the Community Police Forum (CPF) to handle extreme gun-related shootings. We are also in need of fire fire extinguishers to prevent disasters and related social issues from continuing to happen in our Bay and equip residents to deal with these situations.

Based on our successful Beach Project and the continued effort of our Patrollers throughout the Valley, to curb crime in Hout Bay, we appeal to you to contribute to our Patroller Fund.
